An important note on DVD-audio edition |
Please note that only the first song () is available in both 2ch and 5.1ch audio - all other songs are in 2 channel audio only. Also, there have been some problems reported with discs that are not 'entirely' 5.1 channel audio: some DVD players get 'confused' and simply do not see either the 5.1 channel part or the 2 channel part. (It appears that there are no problems with the DVD audio edition of 'MY STORY' that has all songs in either 2ch or 5.1ch) |
This was the first DVD audio product released on the avex trax label and the extract from avex group press release (8 July 2003) is presented below: |
"This
product is the DVD audio version of ,
Ayumi Hamasaki's fifth album, which was released in December 2002. The
songs recorded on the album were sampled at 96kHZ and remastered to 24
bit digital. The quality of DVD audio allows listeners to experience a
depth in tone and voice, in addition to a close-to-reality atmosphere
that cannot be achieved through conventional CD audio. "The song (included in the ballad compilation BALLADS, released on March 12, 2003), which was produced based upon over 100,000 messages from fans, has also been specially recorded in a 5.1ch surround mix version, providing higher quality sound and a more realistic experience. (All other songs are recorded in 2ch stereo.) "The product contains both sound for DVD audio players and sound that can be played in standard DVD video players. (The number of songs playable on DVD video players is the same as for DVD audio players, but playback of is in 2ch stereo.) Basically, - "This product can be played on both DVD video players and DVD audio players, but 5.1ch surround sound can only be played on a DVD audio player. |
I personally can confirm that the quality of the sound from the DVD audio version is definitely better than from a CD version, particularly on a good HiFi system. |
