One-hour long Tamar River cruise departs from the Home Point and first follows North Esk River to the Old Seaport. Then - north on Tamar River to Kings Wharf and under the Paterson and Kings Bridges into the Cataract Gorge in the South Esk River. The area was developed fo the benefit of Launceston's public in the late 19-th century and was the city's most popular promenade in Victorian times. The entry fee then was one penny - it is free now.
