There
are many interesting places along the picturesque Huon Trail -
south-west of Hobart. Thermal Springs, Platypus Walk and Hastings
Caves are of a particular interest. At Thermal Springs the water
in a tiled pool is maintained by nature at 28 degrees Celsius
throughout the year. There are two covered rustic picnic areas
with open fire places and you can easily spend all day there.
Platypus Walk will take you along the creek and, if you are lucky
(and quiet), you may also get a glimpse of a trail's namesake.
In any case it's a pleasant short walk and you can play "If
I was a platypus where would I be hiding?" or "Spot
a trout" along the way. Please
